Virtual Health-Focused Cooking Demo: A New Year, A New You: Omega 3s

The New Year is a great opportunity to start making more mindful and intentional decisions on how to best nourish your body and make long term, healthy lifestyle goals. Join us for virtual health-focused cooking demonstrations every Monday in January where we will dedicate time to lecture, cooking techniques, and Q&A taught by Chopping Block chef and nutritionist, JC White! With pre-planning tips and basic techniques, we will give you the tools and knowhow needed to create filling and delicious meals designed to support the best nutritional practices. 

Today's class will focus on Omega 3s-Healthy Fats:

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fats our bodies need to survive, but did you know they contain powerful health benefits for your body and brain? They have been known to fight depression, decrease heart disease and blood pressure. Learn how to get more omega-3 in your diet with some simple and delicious recipes.

• Kale Salad with Toasted Walnuts and Lemon-Anchovy Vinaigrette
• Cioppino with Seasonal Fish and Shellfish

• Selecting fish and shellfish
• Working with dark, leafy greens

Our Virtual Cooking Demonstrations, via Zoom, are a fun opportunity to watch your chef in action. During class, your chef will teach you how to prepare the dishes while you observe and take notes. Our Zoom moderator will make sure your questions submitted through the chat option are answered during or after class. The recipe packet will be provided upon registration. Please note that some recipe steps may be prepared ahead due to the length of the class.
