Paczkis (Poonch-Keys), yeast dough, fried donuts often filled with jams and creams, are a Fat Tuesday tradition that are enjoyed before pre-Easter fasting begins. Be a part of this delicious tradition by learning how to make these pastries from scratch! You'll prepare jam and custard-filled paczki and go home with 6 donuts you can share with family and friends (or just keep for yourself!). We will have a batch of dough made in advance, so you can get started cutting, shaping and proofing, but you'll make a batch of dough in class to take home. We will also have the custard made in advance so it's ready for filling the paczki.
Menu:
- Jam and Custard-Filled Paczki
Skills covered in class:
- Working with and rolling out yeast dough
- Proofing
- Understanding bread-making ingredients
- Deep frying

In this hands-on class, students will be paired in groups of three to five and work together as a team to prepare the recipes.
