Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Amy Klassman, will teach you the benefits of The MIND Diet (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay) in this demonstration class which may be associated with slowing down cognitive decline and delaying Alzheimer's disease onset. Not only does it promote brain health, it also has the potential to lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes, and aid in weight loss. Created in conjunction with RUSH University of Chicago, this diet promotes increased consumption of antioxidants (through berries, green leafy vegetables, and 1 glass of wine per day) and decreased consumption (not total elimination!) of saturated foods.
