Where did rum originate? And why are there so many different types of rum? Did you know that rum is made in 63 countries? It is truly a global spirit from Martinique to Nepal, but it’s origins and bulk of production resides in the Caribbean and the Americas. Barbados has long been argued the country of origin for what we consider our modern rums. But let’s talk about the three main styles of rum: British, Spanish and Agricole (French).
