Hands-On Chicago Neighborhoods Tour

Don’t have time to travel the world this spring?  Let this be your opportunity to explore the culturally diverse food scene our city has to offer! Learn how to prepare an assortment of recipes in this hands-on class inspired from the rich food culture of our ethnic neighborhoods.
 
Menu:

• Greektown: Greek Villager’s Salad 
• West Town: Pierogi with Potatoes and Cheese
• Pilsen: Beef Tostadas with Queso Fresco, Tomatillo Salsa and Refried Beans
• Little Italy: Tiramisu with Whipped Mascarpone

Skills covered in class:

• Knife skills
• Balancing flavors
• Preparing pierogi dough
• Assembling pierogi
• Selecting potatoes
• Selecting and searing beef
• Working with fresh herbs and spices
• Whipping cream
• Working with lady fingers 

In this hands-on class, students will be paired in groups of three to five and work together as a team to prepare the recipes.
