Hands-On Between the Bread: Sandwiches Around the World

Sandwiches are considered the perfect food because they are versatile, portable, customizable and practical. They can also be enjoyed as a satisfying meal any time of day. Come elevate your sandwich game in this hands-on class as we teach you core cooking techniques in order to construct the most scrumptious sandwiches (in our opinion!). We’ll cover selecting the right bread, preparing mouth-watering fillings and garnishes, and creating layers of textures and flavors you can sink your teeth into.   
 
Menu: 

• Croque Monsieur with Ham, Gruyere Cheese and Béchamel Sauce 
• Banh Mi with Lemongrass Chicken, Pickled Radish and Carrots and Spicy Mayo 
• Chicago-Style Breaded Steak Sandwich with Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella and Giardiniera

• Preparing béchamel 
• Griddling
• Selecting and roasting chicken
• Marinating
• Getting familiar with Vietnamese ingredients
• Pickling
• Selecting and pan-frying steak
• Breading
• Working with fresh herbs
• Preparing tomato sauce 

In this hands-on class, students will be paired in groups of three to five and work together as a team to prepare the recipes.
