Hands-On Date Night: Oktoberfest

Grab your lederhosen and come celebrate the delicious food of Deutschland in this hands-on date night class.

Menu: 

• German Beer-Cheese Spread with Soft Pretzels 
• Wiener Schnitzel (Breaded Veal Cutlet) with Crispy Smashed Potatoes 
• Braised Red Cabbage with Apples and Bacon
• Black Forest Whoopie Pies with Marshmallow-Kirsch Filling 

Skills covered in class: 

• Getting familiar with German ingredients 
• Selecting and sautéing veal 
• Breading 
• Determining meat doneness 
• Braising vegetables 
• Balancing flavors 
• Selecting and roasting potatoes 
• Making cake batter 
• Determining cake doneness 

In this hands-on class, students will be paired in groups of three to five and work together as a team to prepare the recipes.
