The Prohibition Era, which banned the manufacture, transportation and sale of intoxicating liquors, began in 1920. What was the role that Chicago played in this story? And how did the mob in Chicago effect the country and eventually the repeal of Prohibition in 1933? We will weave stories and tales of the Chicago mobster era under prohibition, as you drink your way through the 18th Amendment with a classic Gin Daisy cocktail and tastings of 2 domestic wines and 1 beer.  Chicago is riddled with places that you can walk by today that were fertile grounds for extortion, murder and assassination. Enjoy a fascinating evening with Christophe Bakunas, our spirits expert and historian, as he takes you from speakeasies, to dimly lit backrooms and eventually to court and jail. An assortment of noshes will be served during class.
