New Orleans Brunch Demo on the Grill

We welcome anyone over the age of 18 to participate in any of our cooking classes. Students younger than 18 can participate in our kids/teen classes/camps and Family Night classes. You must be 21 years old or older to attend any class in which alcohol is being served. You will be asked to present a valid ID at the time of check-in. If there is an age requirement for a class, it will be listed in the class description.

The Chopping Block is responsible for serving, monitoring and ensuring safe alcohol consumption of our guests. We are obligated as a business to uphold the terms of our Illinois state liquor license and our insurance, but also to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests and teammates within the venue. We have the right to end alcohol beverage service to any guest if we deem necessary.

We will do our best to accommodate food allergies, but we cannot change class menus or guarantee that those with diet restrictions will be able to eat everything made during class. If you have any of the following allergies: Gluten, Nuts, Dairy, Soy, Shellfish, Eggs please email lincoln@thechoppingblock.com in advance of booking so that we may assess if this menu will work with your dietary restrictions. Please note our kitchens are not a gluten or nut-free environment.

All classes have a three-day cancellation policy, except Culinary Boot Camps 1 and 2 which have a two-week cancellation policy. You must email lincoln@thechoppingblock.com to cancel an existing reservation. If you cancel within three days, you are responsible for paying for the class. If you are exhibiting signs of COVID-19, contact us immediately at lincoln@thechoppingblock.com.

Please note it may be necessary to cancel select classes if 5 or less guests enroll. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, and we will personally reach out to each guest in case of cancellation.

The safety of our staff and guests are of the upmost importance to us. The following policies will be in place during COVID-19:

•The City of Chicago has announced a face mask mandate for all indoor public settings will go into effect as of Friday, August 20, 2021. All individuals aged 2 and over, regardless of their vaccination status, will be required to wear a mask while indoors in public settings. Masks can be removed during eating and drinking.

• Classes will be limited in size so that we are able to practice social distancing when possible.

•Guests will visit our hand washing station upon the start of each class.

• Surfaces will be sanitized by our staff prior to your arrival.

• I certify that if I am not vaccinated, I am not living/visiting in/from one of the states on Chicago’s Travel Order.. The travel order does not apply to fully vaccinated people.

• Only credit cards and gift cards will be accepted for payment of any wine, beer or retail purchases at this time. Sorry, no cash will be accepted.

The coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread primarily from person-to-person contact.

The Chopping Block (“TCB”) has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, TCB cannot guarantee that you will not become infected with COVID-19 while on TCB premises.

By checking the box below, you acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while on TCB premises and that such exposure or infection may result in injury, illness, disability, or even death.

You voluntarily agree to assume the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury, illness, disability, death, that you may experience as a result of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while on TCB premises. Therefore, by checking the box below, you (individually and on behalf of your beneficiaries, assigns, heirs, and estate) release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless TCB and its employees, directors, attorneys, agents, insurers, and representatives, from any and all liabilities, claims, causes of action, damages, fees, costs, and expenses of any kind in respect of any such injury, illness, disability, or death that you may experience in the event that you become exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while on TCB premises.
